Uçhisar marks the highest point of Cappadocia (1300 meter above sea level). Due to its altitude the areas climate can be characterized as very dry, making the hot summer as well as the cold winter pleasant. With the change of seasons, Cappadocia changes its face as well.
Uçhisar did not change much. In the historic part of the village time seemed to have stopped.
From Uçhisar Castle small lanes, squeezed in between traditional houses, leading down to the famous Pigeon Valley.
Asmalı Cave House is located in the Aşağı Mahalle, the lower district. Its fabulous location at the foot of the castles, marvelous views to the fortress, the village and pigeon valley is granted.
